Mokoena determined to leave Blackburn

Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena says he'll leave English Premier League strugglers Blackburn Rovers at the end of the season.

"Mbazo" says he's considering a few options and wants to sign before the Confederations Cup in June.

He says he's looking for a new challenge after almost five years with Rovers.

"I need to move on with my career. So, ja, hopefully things will work out very well at the end of the season for me to be able to find the club I'll be signing a contract! with."

Mokoena was tight lipped about where he might go.

"There's still interest out there. I really want to come back home for Confederations Cup knowing exactly where I will be playing my football next season. I will be probably announcing that sooner rather than later."

He says he's relieved the club survived this season after flirting with relegation, but now he's hoping for some good offers from clubs interested in his services.

"I've been committed to Blackburn and I'm still committed to Blackburn as we have two games to play. My first objective really was to be loyal to the club as much as I can, as I'm contracted to the club, and I did that. Now it's really that I feel that really it's about time for me to move on."

"I mean I've been with Blackburn for four and a half years. My contract will be running out soon, so that's going to make five years being with Blackburn, so I feel like I had a good spell at Black! burn I'm happy, but now, for me, I need another challenge."
