'Big Phil' the man for Chelsea


There will be mixed feelings in Portugal this morning. The Portugese are through to the knock stages of EURO 2008 but their first-class manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will be joining Chelsea on 1 July.

Solari is the first Brazilian to manage an English club. His greatest success was winning the 2002 Soccer World Cup with Brazil. The 59-year-old who is known for his no nonense approach to football would be sure to ring changes once he joins The Blues as he has reportedly been given 100 million pounds for transfers.

On the subject of transfers, The 'will he stay or will he go show', starring non other than Cristiano Ronaldo is still on the road. Speculation over the 23-year-old's Manchester United future continues. The latest reports feature of R! onaldo meeting allegdely meeting with Real Madrid's fitness coach in Italy. United did report Real to FIFA for tapping up but Los Galacticos have been found innocent.
